Research focuses on developing and improving image processing techniques for PET/MR, as well as studying higher-than-expected incidence of mild cognitive impairment in World Trade Center first responders.

Research focuses on terahertz (THz) spectroscopy and its applications in the biomedical fields and material characterization. Other responsibilities include preparing and managing application documents for IRB approval for clinical and animal studies.Current project: Improving material parameter estimation in THz time-domain spectroscopy.

Summer 2017- Taught daily hour and a half long Physics and Calculus classes to high school students to prepare them for the start of the academic year.- Created a streamlined calculator on Excel to be used by other instructors which curved grades using a linear scale based on criteria inputted by instructors and also acted as a personal grade keeper.Fall 2016/Spring 2017- Taught weekly hour and a half long classes to high school students taking physics and calculus during the school year, in order to prepare them for the NYS regents exams, AP exams, and future college courses.- Assessed the students' progress through homework, class work, and quizzes.- Provided academic advice and mentored students applying to colleges and/or who were interested in pursuing engineering or medicine.Summer 2016:- Proposed, planned, and taught "Intro to Engineering Modeling and Design" to high school students in STEP, which introduced basic and necessary tools in SolidWorks, such as drawing and building components based on schematics and assemblies, in order to increase interest in STEM in minority teens.- Led to a final project, in which students designed, built, and 3D printed a rubber band powered car and raced each other.

- Began time and spectral analysis of EEG data collected for ASSR pilot.- Developed a program in R to calculate the common average reference for data points for spectral analysis.- Co-mentored an undergraduate summer student in the analysis of the behavioral pilot and EEG pilot of ASSR study

Research supported by Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Diversity Student Summer Research Opportunities Program (DSSROP) and Fordham University CSTEP."Preliminary evidence for neural processing of task-irrelevant streams in complex auditory environments"- Investigated mechanisms of Auditory Scene Analysis.- Analyzed behavioral and neurophysiological data collected by the lab.- Results were presented at the SURP Symposium, the Fordham University Physics Department Student Colloquium, and the Annual CSTEP Symposium

- Tutored in physics and various math courses to the middle school and high school program, STEP.- Assisted STEP Saturday instructors in handing out class material, supervising students, and helping out students with classwork.- Mentored minority high school students interested in pursuing careers in STEM through large Q&A panels and one-on-one mentoring activities.- Pushed CSTEP and STEP into the electronic age by setting up and managing iPads to take notes and attendance for Saturday courses, and developing an advanced inventory management system using Google Sheets. This system provided parent volunteers who managed STEP Mart, a parent-run snack shop for students, a reliable method of tracking snack inventory, average daily sales per item, and alerted parents when the inventory was low and who was responsible for restocking.

Research and participation funded by Fordham University Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP)"Declining Mental Health in Caribbean Immigrants"- Attended a pre-calculus course and chemistry seminar.- Participated in volunteer opportunities at local health facilities- Conducted and presented research on the mental health disparities in Caribbean immigrants in the Bronx.

Research supported by the NSF and was a part of the Central Washington University REU program"How Rigid are Microtubules?" and "A Brief Study of Microtubule Persistence Length"- Investigated the persistence length of microtubules in a wet lab environment.- Led and supervised a team of two undergraduates in the lab.- Results were presented at the UW-LaX Research Symposium, CWU-REU Symposium, Fordham University Physics Department Student Colloquium, and the CSTEP Annual Statewide Conference.- Awarded 1st place in Math and Physics division of CSTEP Annual Statewide Conference poster competition.
