Hi! My name is Julie, but you can call me Jules. I’m a Vancouver-born, Ottawa-based world traveller with an eye for beautiful design and a penchant for organization. I currently serve as Vice President of boutique land development firm Landlab Inc. I oversee the architecture, urban planning, engineering, and home/infrastructure building aspects of our projects, working with a wide variety of consultants, professionals, and tradespeople to bring our vision to life. I have developed a strong reputation for my ability to manage large-scale land development projects with creativity, strategic thinking, and innovative problem-solving.My career began as a communications and marketing professional, where I gained invaluable experience in storytelling and experience-creation. In many ways, this set a great foundation for my leap into the world of placemaking and neighbourhood-crafting. Successful traditional neighbourhoods are multi-dimensional, but at their core they’re about designing and building places that lead to happier, healthier, and more resilient communities. I am passionate about creating neighbourhoods that not only look great but also serve the needs of the people who will use them and the greater community that existed long before we came along.I am currently on the Board of Directors for the National Town Builders' Association (NTBA) and the Hendrick Foundation (a non-profit which provides spaces for community-led projects and access to recreational infrastructure on preserved green space). I also hold membership in the Congress for New Urbanism (CNU).
