During an unprecedented crisis in youth mental health, The Trustery offers easily accessible, community-driven information that empowers adults to support children, adolescents, and teens. Co-founders Katie and Jules have extensive combined experience in education, curriculum development, and the health care industry. Both became certified to teach Youth Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. But they quickly found that the format wasn’t ideal for many of those who needed the information most–parents. They created The Trustery to get vital information to parents and caregivers in easily-accessible formats, so they can proactively support the young people in their lives.The Trustery provides adult education and a directory of crowd-sourced practitioners in hopes of reducing the time young people wait for appropriate mental health services (which is often up to a decade after the onset of symptoms). The name stems from the fact that having just one trusted adult in their life increases a child's chance of improved outcomes when facing mental health challenges.
