Co-founders Katie and Jules have extensive combined experience in education, curriculum development, and the health care industry. Both became certified to teach Youth Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. But they quickly found that the format wasn’t ideal for many of those who needed the information most–parents. They created The Trustery to get vital information to parents and caregivers in easily-accessible formats, so they can proactively support the young people in their lives.The Trustery provides adult education and a directory of crowd-sourced practitioners in hopes of reducing the time young people wait for appropriate mental health services (which is often up to a decade after the onset of symptoms). Divide time between two Nursing investigations: a breast cancer-related lymphedema R01 study, and a public health evaluation program aimed at increasing health provider knowledge and support of breastfeeding. Collect data according to protocol, create and maintain useful analysis databases, perform extensive literature searches, assist with manuscript production, and complete other tasks for primary investigators. Act as data manager for lymphedema study and train graduate students to ensure high quality data collection and entry.

Assist primary investigator and research team on qualitative (hermeneutic phenomenology) Blood and Marrow Transplant and Palliative Care studies at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Recruit and schedule patients for study, consent patients, interview patients, prepare and review transcriptions, and analyze data for presentation and publication.
