Press Dispensary was a PR copywriting and press release syndication specialist. This company provided professional training in official copywriting standards and using Romeike (Media Intelligence) databases. I also came up with the idea of a charity art auction for the Battersea Contemporary Art Fair and helped make it happen by arranging celebrity gift items for auction and an auctioneer.

Miss Bollywood was an online retail company specialising in cosmetics and fashion. I was commissioned to help identify the company’s USP and re-style its image for a re-launch with a whole new range. This included writing all related copy (website copy, press releases, product descriptions and editorial) and advising on promotional and press activity.

Miss Groovy was an independent, premier beauty retailer. I was commissioned to help re-style the company’s promotional face for pending sale to a larger corporate. This involved creating a company presentation portfolio and developing new products (including the Frostbite lipstick).

Rebos Investments was then a new company launch. I assisted the founder and Managing Director with the planning, set-up and launch of the business and acted as manager for the initial term after opening. The company has since expanded, has an excellent reputation and has won industry awards.

Zenith / f.uk included a magazine publishing house and fashion / design house. I was one of the main two, in-house writers, taking instruction directly from the Editorial Director / Managing Director. I also assisted the MD as his PA across other business ventures from corporate and legal, to promotions and events. I have since completed freelance work for the company and MD.

London Features International (LFI) was an iconic, original photographic library. LFI held and rented out archives of prints and transparencies to the press. LFI specialised in music and represented many of the well-known music photographers of the time. I manually sourced and selected images from the archives to brief and catalogued them digitally. I left this position to relocate.

EMR was a trendy radio PR company. I was part of the PR crew which looked after the advertisers. We arranged the bookings, managed hospitality and assisted as needed throughout the process. My pet project was setting up an in-house image library.

This was the UK correspondence office for a large German publishing house. I assisted the UK editor and her assistant in documenting the UK news to the head office and sourcing and providing press material and images for the stories of interest. This was before the digital world and involved piles of newspapers, typewriters, fax machines, photo libraries, transparencies, motorcycle couriers and freight flights. This was a small, local music promotions company with two semi-famous clients. I worked there as an assistant whilst studying at college and did everything from making coffee to putting press packs together. I was taken on after the manager saw and liked an interview with one of his bands which I’d had published in the local magazine.
