Rangeland Management Specialist: Plans, manages, produces, and implements allotment evaluations for assigned grazing allotments. Responsible for gathering, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of monitoring data to determine if land use objectives are being met. Reviews grazing permits to ensure compliance with appropriate federal law. Reviews and processes annual grazing applications. Conducts upland vegetation monitoring studies and determines the need for range and watershed improvements that are directly related to management objectives. Principle author/editor of written products developed for the allotment evaluation and NEPA environmental assessment process. Develops, maintains and revises planning documents in the field office for the range program in accordance with established planning schedules. Ensures impacts to the range and grassland ecosystem are properly mitigated. Serves as the principal investigator and negotiator on livestock grazing unauthorized use cases and makes recommendations for case settlement and closure. Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Resource Management Plans (RMPs). Maintains fire qualifications as a Resource Advisor. Monitoring Coordinator: Organize annual monitoring priorities and scheduling, monitoring training, monitoring database and GIS data management, and continuing education in monitoring techniques and tools. Serves as the ESD coordinator, heading up collection and summarization of site specific reference area information for our locality. AIM coordinator for the Upper Snake Field Office. Wild Horse and Burro Program Coordinator: Administer WHB program, including adoptions, compliance, and titling of wild horses and burros in the field office area. Manages the East Idaho 4-H and BLM Mustang Training Program, which places yearling mustangs with area 4-H'ers to gentle, train and show at the East Idaho State Fair. The horses are then offered to the public for adoption.
