In a Band 7 position responsible for the successful programme management of Islington Borough Partnership, the local Islington place-based partnership. This included:• Driving integrated working to improve population health in Islington through the Islington Borough Partnership Board. Working closely with Local Authorities, social care, Public Health, primary care, the voluntary sector and acute providers to deliver on population health improvements.• Management of local communications for the Borough Partnership as well as responsible for administrative services at the monthly Board meetings such as writing Board papers, presenting and writing minutes.• Direct management of local Islington health inequalities budget of over £650,000. Supporting the identification and development of 11 health inequalities projects funded through this stream and responsible for the evaluating, contracting, and financing of these programmes. Projects varied from holistic physical health support for people experiencing homelessness to community champions and engagement to increase the uptake of childhood immunisations and cervical cancer screening.• Led on the evaluation and service review of the Islington Navigation Service worth £360,000, using quantitative and qualitative data to understand the service and make recommendations for improvements.• Working across the ICB and with public health as the local lead to develop a programme and bid for funding to increase cancer screening among communities with low uptake.• Supporting the development of the North Central London Health and Care Academy which aims to tackle recruitment and retention challenges by supporting local people into the health and care workforce. This also increases community wealth and the diversity of our workforce. Working with the council and training providers to develop this programme through steering groups and task and finish groups.

Undertook the Graduate Management Training Scheme within the NHS specialising in General Management. The scheme consisted of three placements, central leadership training and a postgraduate diploma in Healthcare Leadership. My placements have included:• Service Manager in GI Services at University College London Hospitals • Business and Service Improvement Manager at Brandon Centre• Programmes Manager for Islington Borough Partnership at NCL ICB

A Band 6 position with the following responsibilities: • Direct management of two teams alongside operational management of a lab at UCLH. Line management of 3 people until April 2022 and 8 additional members of staff from April 2022.• Direct management of the Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgical Services. Ensuring outpatient clinics and surgical theatre lists are optimised and patients are provided with the best quality care possible. Handling informal and formal complaints and using these to drive service improvement. • Working with clinical staff to deliver service improvement projects. For instance, led on pathway redesign for Thyroid Cancer patients and searching for and resolving data quality issues across the division. Utilising patient experience data to improve patient’s time on GI inpatient wards.• Improving key performance metrics including the time from referral to treatment.• Managing the flow of patients on three wards in the hospital one day a week

Created and conducted a series of seminars and field-trips for a group of 10 GCSE students from a local London school. Taught historical concepts such as the decolonisation of memory to students on the topic ‘Redesigning Trafalgar Square’. Gained valuable experience within a Widening Participation scheme that aims to increase the social and economic diversity of institutions for higher education.
