Known for her visionary insights and commitment to excellence, Dr. Cothron has been an educational pioneer as the Executive Director of the MathScience Innovation Center, a division-leader with the Hanover County Public Schools and a classroom teacher in various public and private schools in Virginia and Georgia. Nationally recognized for her four books and articles on effective strategies for integrating student research into the classroom, Dr. Cothron has made hundreds of presentations on the topic; for the work she was recognized by the Virginia Association of Science Teachers and the Educational Press Association of America.Within Virginia, Dr. Cothron has led many professional organizations and committees with her current focus being strategic planning and policy development for the Virginia Mathematics & Science Coalition.
