Addressed the neural basis of sex difference by assessing levels of phosphorylated mitogen-activated protein kinase (pMAPK) in the basolateral amygdala (BLA), the central amygdala (CEA), and the paraventricular nucleus of thalamus (PVT) of female rats following a test for the expression of fear memory and following an extinction retention test. Assisted in a variety of molecular biology techniques such as immunohistochemistry and western blots.
