Inclusive Campus Lab, Dr. Tal Jarus - UBC School of Occupational TherapyQuantitative (Python, SPSS) and qualitative data analysis (Nvivo)

Lead a team of 16 students to impact over 450 girls in 27 high schools. Spearheaded event planning focusing on empowering female students to pursue STEM and non-traditional careers, high school success strategies and career guidance. Created and donated 70 COVID-19 packages, providing essential supplies to help students return to school safely. This package was especially helpful for families who were hard-hit by the pandemic.Applied and received over $8,000 funding from the Government of Canada, Rising Youth, Laidlaw Foundation and United Way Niagara.

Selected to represent the voices of 5,000 youth in Niagara Falls. Planned Niagara Student Summit to offer an out-of-the-box learning experience for over 300 high school students in the Niagara Region. Facilitated Youth Forum for over 200 high school students to survey youth on city improvement. Launched Mental Health Campaign to provide exams de-stress tips and promote mental health acceptance in the community. Presented a bill to Niagara Falls City Council plastic straws to ban within all City’s facilities and launched a public education campaign on reusable, plastic-free alternatives

Secured a $1,000 grant from Laidlaw Foundation to launch a youth civic education campaign prior to the 2019 federal election. Organized and led meetings to plan events including student mock vote, brainstorming sessions, trivia contests and social media presence at local high schools. Collaborated with Civiconnect to host Student Town Hall at Brock University to ensure youth opinions are accounted for in the politicians’ platform
