My name is Julia Downer, and I am a passionate, hard-working master’s graduate with extensive experience in the fields of healthcare administration and non-profit community engagement and a strong desire to serve my community.My interest in health—specifically Public Health, Nutrition & Health Administration—came later. After college, I spent a year in Rwanda, where I worked in an NGO operations position to positively affect the wellbeing of the populace I was serving. This experience gave my life direction and ambition, and when I returned, I began my pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the George Washington University. While I worked toward my degree, I gained further experience in the healthcare field, this time with an emphasis on administration and federal regulation/contracting. In January 2018, I became the Executive Director of “Your Health Concierge,” a wellness organization that helps individuals, companies and government organizations obtain the very best healthcare outcomes for themselves and those in their care. I graduated in August of 2018 and became COO of Your Health Concierge, Inc. January 1, 2019. My time with YHC has granted me extensive knowledge of not only political and social limitations of access to care, but also strengthened my basic understanding of the process of coordinated health care services. Moreover, this experience allowed me to gain self-taught managerial, credentialing, and medical billing skills, as well as given me significant experience engaging in my community which I would otherwise have likely not gained. I recently finished my master’s program, and I am thrilled to be ready to take the next step in my career in the service of the people around me. I am highly confident that my wide range of professional and service experiences, combined with my uncompromising dedication to my work and personal desire to succeed will make me a committed, productive member of your team very quickly.
