With industrial expansion and environmental neglect only becoming more prominent in our culture, preserving and expanding natural environments seems more urgent than ever. Pursuing environmental or biosystems engineering helps me understand human impacts on our world and how to work towards bettering the environment that I care about so much. My passion for environmental policy and advocacy is what drove me to do my senior research project through UAB on health outcomes as it relates to rising temperatures and pollution, as well as my urban service work with YouthServe. The future of our planet is in our generation's hands, and I want to do everything I can to contribute to that through educating myself and others through action by developing new systems and technologies.
