Hogg Consulting Limited is a Waikato based business consultancy, specialised in Business Analysis, Process Improvement, Data Analysis, Demand Planning, Software Implementation and Excel-based work.

Part of my role is the implementation of a CRM system, to improve our process flows, data storage and communication. Additionally, I analyse and report on sales data, and it’s been my mission to implement processes throughout the business.

In this role, I collaborate with new clients in their mobile app onboarding process, supporting them in their journey from information collation to app launch and on-going support. I train them in the use of new software and answer queries. I also maintain and improve our database and have implemented several process improvements within the company to elevate transparency, establish robust processes and increase efficiency.

As part of the Supply Chain department, I supported the team with report building and reporting as well as analysis to improve supply chain processes. I was part of an initiative to reduce material waste, creating systems that enabled better tracking of returned materials.

As the Business Analyst for the department for Internal Medicine and Oncology, I worked closely with management, medical staff and other analysts to support strategic decisions such as bed planning optimisation or the rollout of new methods for a quicker turnaround in the Emergency Department. I also provided reports and statistics to improve day to day operations such as resource planning. My main activities included data gathering through SQL queries and meeting with stakeholders to then analyse and report the information in Excel.

As the sole analyst in this company, I looked after analytical enquiries along the supply chain. I worked mainly with the CEO and the supply chain and sales teams to identify process improvement opportunities by e.g. analysing cost factors along the supply chain and identifying the more cost-effective suppliers or by creating an Excel tool to accurately and easily calculate customised product pricing for quicker response time to the customers. I was also responsible for the product maintenance in the ERP system NetSuite and I supported operations with administrative and customer service activities during busy periods.

My role as demand planner within the Sales and Operations team covered two main activities. Primarily, I worked closely with marketing and the operations team to create product mixes and plan and order stock for promotions and seasonal events, achieving the right balance between marketing expectations and inventory practicality. Secondly, I improved the demand planning process by developing an automated Excel tool which reports on historic sales and forecasts on all product categories including seasonal changes. This supported me in my activity to analyse product movement, identify slow movers and report on general stock enquiries.

In this role, I looked after the warehousing and transport operations of some of our clients on-site. This involved client setup in our 3PL software and staff training on its use, setup and maintenance of reports, inventory control and stock takes, monthly KPI reporting, resolving of delivery and stocking issues, analysis and improvement of processes such as categorising slow and fast movers and establishing appropriate picking locations to optimise warehousing processes for staff. I was also the master user of one of the warehouse management systems used on-site and I wrote all SOPs for it and taught staff of all levels on how to use it.

As the logistics officer, my main activity was to ensure the right quantity of the right products at all times. I achieved this by analysing reports from our ERP and forecasting systems and placing orders with suppliers with whom I worked very closely. I also set up and ran regular reports identifying problematic items and improved ordering procedures to reduce inventory levels while maintaining service levels.
