In this role, I implemented new ways to increase technical development and complexity, such as seminars focused on mechanical and electrical skills. Assisting the Internal Vice President in supporting Purdue's ASME design teams. This includes finding necessary resources, applying to grants, working with the External team to get sponsors, working with the Marketing team to advertise the teams and their events, assisting with technical development, and promoting members' and ASME's growth.

Leading a group of Design Leads in organizing semester-long robotics-based projects for Purdue's ASME Small Projects, including creating rules, criteria, specifications, assessing BOMs, applying to grants, and more. I also assisted with giving teams advice in designing, choosing materials, deciding on manufacturing techniques, and developing their projects. During this semester, teams created Projectiles to launch balls as far and as accurately as possible.

Organizing semester-long robotics-based projects for Purdue's ASME Small Projects, including creating rules, criteria, specifications, assessing BOMs, and more with a small group of Design Leads. I also assisted with giving teams advice in designing, choosing materials, deciding on manufacturing techniques, and developing their projects. During this semester, teams created Battle Bots to compete with the other teams' projects to be the last one in the arena.

Working with Textron Aviation's Experimental Manufacturing department to gain a better understanding of what the department does and how mechanical engineering is used in industry. This department creates one-off solutions as well as working on the first preliminary prototype and iteration tooling that may not be used again. Specifically, I worked on creating an Excel sheet that could calculate theoretical costs of tooling based on past projects. I led teams of 3-5 people over six competitive game seasons as a part of VEX Robotics. During this time, I learned how to design, create, program, and improve robots to complete a large arrays of tasks. Some specific skills I gained were C and C++ programming, using machine shop tools such as bandsaws, Dremel tools, drill presses, etc., and using Autodesk Inventor to CAD designs.
