Working with mission-driven organizations to create and analyze the information they need to ensure programs are culturally sensitive, most impactful, and sustainable.FACILITATION Co-created and facilitated a retreat for civil society board members of an international, participatory funder. Identified board members’ needs and built spaces for reflection around their role, RCF processes and mechanisms, and power dynamics. Supported the building of familiarity and trust amongst ISC civil society members.  Created and facilitated Community Centric Fundraising’s Labor Rights’ Collaborative. Built and led a series of knowledge and skill sharing workshops to strengthen members’ expertise and create common understanding of key concepts. PHILANTHROPIC ADVOCACY AND EVALUATION Evaluated the Grow Power Fund, a six-year fund for U.S. grassroots organizations. Created and led a decolonial research methodology: surveyed grantees to identify key priorities for the evaluation; interviewed Grow Power Fund staff and grantees; and used thematic analysis to synthesize results. Shared the results in a report used to promote best practices among funders. ADVOCACY AND STORYTELLING Researched and wrote case studies to highlight advocacy tactics useful for SOGI rights groups.PROCESS AUDITS/ VALUES-BASED PROCESS CREATION Carried out a processes audit for Criterion Institute to ensure internal processes were in line with the organization’s values, and most efficiently served the organization’s mission. Led a team of ten staff members to implement these changes and support the ongoing process of process standardization.

Promoted from Program Officer in 2020. Managed a portfolio of 30 grantees across five continents, using an average annual expenditure of $750,000 to drive global impact against human rights violations that negatively impact health. Built long-term initiatives and partnerships benefiting global communities and internal teams within the Open Society Foundations. Established strategic collaborations, notably supporting the global advancement of LGBTI and sex worker health and rights measures. Areas of focus included anti-discrimination policy, LGBTI rights, sex worker rights, philanthropic resource allocation, and HIV/AIDS policy.

- Established and managed the international Sex Worker Donor Collaborative, aligning funders to execute common strategies, influence external donors, and drive long-term impact. Tripled membership within five years and secured around $2M of new funding for rights-based work within three years.- Enabled strategic planning between a group of sixteen donors during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic through weekly calls, identifying gaps in grantee support to ensure the safety of grantee partners. - Defeated discriminatory legislation and policies impacting Key Populations for the HIV response in Malawi and Kyrgyzstan. Influenced the adoption of rights-affirming policy in Canada, Brazil, United States and Kyrgyzstan.- Supported the inclusion of civil society groups in government commissions on HIV/AIDS policy, anti-discrimination policy, human rights, and resource allocation in Kenya, Uganda, Kyrgyzstan, Brazil, and Ukraine.- Facilitated partnership between human rights groups in Brazil, funding and monitoring collaboration to change harmful norms impacting Key Populations for the HIV response. Supported official partnerships between civil society groups local governments, including the Belo Horizonte Human Rights Council and Women’s Council. Drove involvement with the state government’s Human Rights Monitoring Program, earning position as official monitors and winning the inclusion of violence against transgender people and sex workers as new data points.- Created and facilitated Open Society Foundations’ Queer Salon to build a supportive work environment for queer-identified staff. Successfully advocated for inclusive measures including the normalization of pronoun use in e-mail signatures, LGBTI-inclusive human resource policy, and the adoption of the Grantmakers United for Transgender Communities (GUTC) pledge.

Responsible for the coordination of a mixed methodology study of the social, political, economic and cultural determinants of women's participation in the informal labor market in Latin America.

Created a comprehensive report on the state of transgender and sex-worker inclusion within existing social policy, presented to Uruguay’s Ministry of Social Development, the United Nations’ Development Program, and other civil society organizations. Built relationships with local activists and policy-makers, and conducted first-person interviews with impacted individuals to identify existing disparities and recommend actionable strategies for improvement.- Influenced the creation of the Consejo Consultivo de la Diversidad Sexual, a forma task force unifying government and civil society officials to review and address policy disparities in regards to LGBTI inclusion. - Supported the creation and approval of Uruguay’s 2018 Comprehensive Law for Trans Persons, which created comprehensive, rights-based, social policy for trans persons.
