About Julia Marcellini

I have a technical degree in Clothing Design and I have made a career transition into the denim by working in different factories and laundries that gave me knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, cutting, washes and print techniques.I have been working making molds for 10+ years and working with denim for 13+ years. Through my education and work experience, I have understanding all details and prolixity of every work and I have excellent organizational and communication skills.During my time employed at Lavadero San Martin, I had the opportunity to work with students and professors from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, worked to teach different washing processes and knowledge of fabrics. Many of the processes I have been able to show with a live presentation. This type of experience required responsibility, clear communication, and excellent organizational and project management skills.I have gained experience in serving suppliers from different sectors through the different positions in which I have worked, and the ability that helped me to be successful in them is my ability to adapt effectively to different queries, being attentive, a good listener and attending to the different needs. In addition, I have gained experience in production monitoring, working with different sectors, using Excel spreadsheets and technical sheets for communication.

    I work in the area of finished products in denim and gabardine and within the area of design and production of our own brands (@pbdenim | @harveywillys). Every day I establish excellent relationships with suppliers seeing different fabrics, their compositions and washing options that can be applied on them, with workshops defining threads, types of garment construction and solving possible problems, and customers advising them on new trends, fit and processes. I participate in the realization of base molds, to define models, and in production pattern in Optitex. I monitor and supervise production of all sectors (printing, cutting, sewing, washing, finishing and packaging) and I make technical and product sheets for all of them. I contribute to develop seasonal concepts trough scketch, color, fabric, style, finish, pattern, model, garment construction and fit, and also control the fabric stock.I have increased the client portfolio, implemented new washing process techniques and created schedules, stock and monitor of samples and production and I also organized a production planning system.

    I was in charge of the laser area (Bestim laser system 250). I drew samples and productions and I prepared and supervised them. Later on, I was also the sample-washing assistant (sanding, spotting, painting, washing, wrinkling and ironing). I worked in the finished product area in denim and gabardine making molds and chalks, controlled and monitored samples (sewing and washing), tracked production, made technical and product sheets for clients and workshops, and I held daily relationships with them. I was in charge of finding supplies, comparing price and quality and I also designed, prepared and organized the tackle area. I monitored and organized stock of fabrics and accessories and performed quality control. Finally, I designed collections for clients (fabrics, fits, colors, embroidery).I expanded the finished product department, created and implemented technical and product sheets for samples and production and promoted the development of new production areas, resulting in growth in the factory, opening new areas such as molding, cutting, accoutrements and quality.
