Sustainable development and practical climate change solutions have been the focus of my professional career and volunteer activities. I hold a Masters in Economics, focusing on environmental economics and a Bachelor in International Economics with a focus on trade and finance. My expertise is in emissions reductions policy, corporate procurement of renewables and stakeholder engagement strategies. I have worked with governments (provincial and national), utilities, industry associations, and with companies from across the energy sector.Currently, I am the Senior Manager, Sustainable Enterprise Operations for the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), focused on supporting the implementation of RBC's Climate Blueprint by leading RBC’s global emissions reduction and renewable energy strategies, public disclosures on RBC’s environmental footprint, and supporting our different business units in implementing climate change strategies within their day-to-day operations. Before joining RBC, I was the Alberta Clean Economy Director at the Pembina Institute, leading the Business Renewables Centre (BRC) Canada. BRC Canada is an initiative of the Pembina Institute, where corporations and institutions can learn how to buy renewable energy directly from developers. Before working for the Pembina Institute I worked for local and international non-profit organizations, for German and Mexican government institutions and for academia. I’m on the board of Student Energy, Green Economy Canada and part of the Environmental Committee of the Calgary Community Foundation. I am fluent in German, English and Spanish and have received various awards for my leadership in transitioning the energy sector.
