The WAVESIX app is a simple tool that lets you track your health, lifestyle and well-being.With the help of machine learning it will feed back what works for you and will empower you to lead a happier and healthier life. You log your activities for the day in six categories - SLEEP, NUTRITION, MOVEMENT, RELAXATION, RELATIONSHIPS and SELF, and how you are feeling that day, i.e. happy, stressed, fatigued etc. In the calendar view you can compare your inputs and over time patterns might emerge that show you that better sleep indeed provides you with more energy, social interactions make you happier or that a plant based diet doesn’t work for you. How does the weather affect you or time restricted eating? It is based on the Functional Medicine approach of a more holistic look at the general wellbeing of a person. Everything links, can you connect the dots for a happier and healthier life? I was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) shortly after the birth of our third child in 2010. A few years later I thought it could be Lyme disease when the test for it came back positive. However, the doctors couldn’t decide which disease I had and I realised I needed to become as healthy as possible to avoid any further relapses, for my sake and especially for our three young children. I started working with a nutritional therapist to change my diet. She was training to become a functional medicine practitioner at the time and I learned a lot from her. This was the first crucial step in my long health journey. I tried various treatments, supplements and interventions on the way, with variable success. I kept a food diary and energy score, but wouldn’t go back in my notes to analyse them. I always thought I needed an app to do this! Fast forward to now and we’re currently working on the MVP for WAVESIX.The aim is for the app to provide feedback to the user, analysing the input and notifying them if certain patterns are recognized, that e.g. lead to relapses in the past. It can be used as a symptom tracker and can also track medication or periods etc. The app will be able to connect to trackers that you might be using already to facilitate the data input. Who knows, there might be even the potential for a smartwatch application.
