Looking for an avenue in which I could use my brain with a young infant having recently arrived, I decided to work from home! Armed with my Mac, headphones and a foot pedal I was ready to kick start my brain again! SmartDocs offered the role I was after - I can choose my capacity each week, days off are my choice, making time management of vital importance. The work is varied with no two jobs being the same and I love it, plus the company owner is a joy to work for.

It was time for a job closer to home (Brighton) so I joined SalesReps, a specialised recruitment firm dealing only in employing sales teams for their clients - which at that time included such companies as Motorola, Digitec etc - and managing the sales teams on behalf of those clients. A very interesting role and great team to work with, it was a shame to depart but I was about to have a baby!!

A change was in order... from a company of over 800 staff to a company of 8 - it was heavenly! Working with the two directors of Republica I was thrown into the world of property development (Eureka Tower) and loved it. A very "hands on" role, and no two days were the same. One of the directors was also in movie producing ("The Extra") so it was fantastic to get stuck into script editing and another entirely different field of work in contrast to my legal background. I worked at Freehills for just under a year before embarking on my mid-20s escape to Europe - given it was an indefinite timeframe I had no choice but to resign, however upon returning 8 months later I called to say hello and they asked me back the very next day! I returned to 101 Collins for a further 8+ years and worked as an Executive Assistant to one partner (commercial law/privatisation) for 6 of those years. Commenced as a junior secretary, quickly moved into a more senior role supporting associates, and within a couple of years was PA to a partner (commercial law/liquor licensing) and a junior lawyer. Was also chairing the social committee for my last couple of years, which I enjoyed immensely!
