In this role, I am responsible for all acquisitions and cataloging of children’s, tween, and young adult library material, including ordering, receiving, metadata assignation, and record maintenance. In addition, I am also responsible for all serial activities, including acquisition, cataloging, and subscription management. I work closely with the Head of Technical Services to manage and develop workflows, procedures, and documentation. Outside of technical services, I also regularly provide customer service at the Reference, Children’s and Circulation desks by answering reference questions, providing technology instruction, performing database searches, requesting materials from other organizations, assisting patrons with their accounts, and circulating materials.

As a member of the Collections and Knowledge Management department, I performed a wide variety of technical services tasks, including basic copy cataloging, serials management, end-processing, weeding, and collection maintenance. I was also responsible for training and supervising 3 student workers who were primarily responsible for shelving and preparing material for binding. I regularly participated in the planning and execution of collection projects, departmental workflows, and documentation.

Provided basic reference services to teens and adults in the Teen Room.
