Dance InstructorKaren Clark Dance Studio Sep 2017 - PresentVictoria, BcAfter dancing at Karen Clark Dance Studio for more than a decade I reached out to the studio owner to inquire about teaching. Having experience in both dance and gymnastics she requested that I join the current acro (dance and gymnastics combo) instructor and help with those classes. I absolutely love sharing my love of these two different but complementary art forms with my students while teaching them new skills and helping my co-teacher to choreograph fun routines that showcase their abilities.I also substitute classes of different dance styles at KCDS including jazz, contemporary, and many RAD ballet classes (being qualified after having completed up to Grade 8 and Intermediate exams.

Junior Interior DesignerThomas & Birch Cabinetry Inc Oct 2021 - Jan 2023Victoria, BcAs a junior designer at Thomas & Birch, I worked directly with the top sales-designer. I assisted her in all stages of her projects including client meetings, pricing kitchens and providing customer quotes, writing contract and purchase orders, and of course designing, drafting and rendering kitchens and other millwork. -
Mechanical Engineer TechnologistGreenlane Offroad Jul 2020 - Oct 2021Victoria, British Columbia, CanadaI worked at Greenlane Offroad in a Mechanical Engineering position while attending school for Interior Architectural Design. In my role at Greenlane I wore many hats. I managed both the backend and front facing aspect of the website, including product pages and keeping track of customer accounts and sales. I also managed the shop schedule to ensure that customer orders were shipped out in a timely fashion. Working directly with the owner and founder of the company, I helped draft, model and test new products, that often included doing a 3D scan of a vehicle and uploading it to our modeling software to do test fits in a virtual space before making prototypes. In addition to the website and product design, I helped with customer care which included answering questions about products for prospective clients and assisting clients with order and shipping inquires, and product installation.

NannySelf-Employed Sep 2018 - Sep 2019Four years after graduating from college and jumping right into my career at the age of 19, I decided that I needed to take a step back from my career and work in a totally different environment just to give my brain a break and have the "gap year" that I never gave myself after high school. After talking to some friends I connected with a wonderful family and got hired to be a nanny for their son who was 18months at the time.A typical day in the life of me and my toddler include; reading stories, snacks, trips to the park and or duck pond, walks in his neighborhood hoping to find any construction that might include a backhoe or cement mixer, drawing pictures (his demands for what I draw vary from concrete mixer to helicopter), and playing with LEGO where we build houses and anything that in his eyes might resemble a drill, leaf blower or air compressor. While kiddo naps I did house cleaning to try and tidy up the tornado that inevitably rips through the house daily when there's a toddler there.

Production And Purchasing CoordinatorVrx Ventures Ltd. Mar 2018 - Aug 2018Victoria, BcAfter my contract with VROX Sports Simulation ended, I returned to work at VRX Racing Simulators, and with my return came new responsibilities.VRX had grown since I had originally worked there and now were building head to head racing set-ups rather than just single simulators. When I rejoined the team, a fun park (essentially an arcade but bigger and better) in Charleston, SC was interested in purchasing an eight-simulator set-up and I was the project lead. I was the main point of contact between the arcade owner and the VRX team and was in charge of; coordinating the design to ensure that it would meet the customers needs, purchasing components not made in house, and making sure that everything stayed on track with the timeline as set out by the customer. When the time came I helped test the system and then travel to South Carolina to install it in the fun park. I also resumed many of my original tasks such as general purchasing, shipping logistics, and production of the other simulators. (See below for description during initial employment). -
Research And Operations TechnologistVrox Sport Simulation Dec 2016 - Mar 2018Sidney, B.C.VROX (Virtual Richmond Olympic Experience) started as a partnership between VRX (Virtual Racing Experience) and The ROX (Richmond Olympic Experience headquartered in the Richmond Olympic Oval) so while working at VRX, VROX reached out to me about joining their team. My responsibilities at VROX were much the same as they had been at VRX, which the exception that now I was working with bobsleigh, kayak and sit-ski (paralympic skiing apparatus) simulators rather than race cars. A notable difference between the simulators used in VRX and VROX is that the VRX simulators are games that the rider plays and controls/steers, whereas the VROX simulators are described as a ride where the users can experience what the activity might feel like while having no control of the movement. While working with VROX I helped run simulators at events in the City of Richmond, troubleshoot simulators housed in the Richmond Olympic Oval, and install a new simulator in an Olympic centre in Montreal. My work with VROX was contract based as it was part of a temporary partnership to create the simulators needed for the Richmond Olympic Oval, and afterwards I returned to VRX to continue working with racer simulators.

Design & Purchasing ManagerVrx Ventures Ltd. Oct 2014 - Oct 2016Sidney BcAt VRX I had many varying responsibilities. My job title was "Design and Purchasing Manager" which is self-explanatory but doesn't begin to summarize everything I did while working there.I designed all of the in-house components for the simulators which includes anything that isn't a game control, computer, or program, and then I would purchase all of the components that aren't designed in-house. I was also production manager which meant that I would over-see, and quite often assist, with the building of the simulators.Lastly, and most definitely not least, I organized all of the shipping logistics of the simulators when they left the shop for either a customer or a trade show. Within the first year of my job I had shipped simulators to many North American addresses, as well as London England, Madrid Spain, and Macau China! -
