Managed the Pavements of the Peka Peka to Otaki section of the Wellington Northern Corridor ($250M NZD). I managed the reconstruction of 900m of failed roadway as part of the Kaikoura Earthquake recovery. This work involved the construction of gabion basket walls between one metre and 6.5 metres high, installation of stormwater culverts within the roadway and the gabion walls, and the reconstruction of the road itself. This project had an additional level of difficulty as the road we reconstructed was the only access in and out of the North side of the major slips/retaining walls. I was responsible for ensuring that the work was completed to the required quality standards and prior to the 15th of December deadline required to open State Highway 1. I maintained accurate site records of works completed on site, including the management of multiple subcontractors on site, auditing health and safety compliance against the NCTIR work standards and managing the morning pre-starts and weekly toolbox talks. I co-ordinated the installation of streetlights on site and the temporary streetlight relocation and while ensuring the network around the Te Atatu Interchange remained live. Supervising sub-contractors involved with services on site including material, commercial and quality requirements. I worked as the sole Site Engineer on the Lincoln Road project completing the last traffic switches and works prior to practical completion including a Timber Boardwalk, Bridge Approaches, Concrete Barriers and various pavement types. I was responsible for managing the quality, cost tracking and identification and subsequent close out of outstanding works with the client. This was an especially difficult contract as it was let in 4 stages over 5 years without the ability to close out each stage of work before the next stage started - this led to significant amounts of night shifts being required to finish small pieces of outstanding work. . Conducting on site audits to ensure job packs are up to date. Conducting in depth audits of quality documentation for different types of works. Following up with engineers to ensure non compliant is remediated and signed off.
