Led complex grantmaking and fundraising for the nation’s largest behavioral health nonprofit ($700M+) serving 40,000 annually at 900 locations in 12 states. Spearheaded strategic direction that used improved marketing communications, KPIs, forecasting, and high standards for fundraising and fiscal management. Worked with C-suite executives, board, and program leadership to ensure decision making supported organizational vision and achieves CSR goals for business partners. Fostered equitable philanthropy that engaged 10,000 employees and increased access to behavioral health care. Recruited and managed high performing staff and led complex cross-divisional collaboration throughout the country.

Led growth that positioned Astral as nation’s leading entrepreneurial incubator for early career classical musicians. Set strategic direction, managed daily operations, board relations, and served as national spokesperson. Provided expertise in fundraising, finance, communications, event and concert management. Spearheaded social impact programs that improved evaluation and program responsiveness. Attracted and retained highly qualified staff.

In this position, I had authority for all aspects of daily operations and was key in transforming the direction of the orchestra to become one of few diversity-focused orchestra in the US with a majority of African American and Latinx musicians. My responsibilities included governance, marketing, program management, relationship development, and finance. I also served as the orchestra’s spokesperson and cultivated strong connections within the local community to drive awareness of the orchestra.

In this role, I directed grantmaking, operations, programs, and administration for one of Pennsylvania’s largest educational foundations. I oversaw $750K in education-based grantmaking and program delivery. My scope included developing and maintaining budgets, overseeing staff, reporting, operations, and the proposal adjudication process. I also managed key external relationships and performed coaching and site visits with grantees.

I worked closely with other senior managers and the board to determine goals, budget, and opportunities. I fundraised for a $1.5M budget and supervised the Director of Corporate Relations.

This role focused on leading marketing and development strategies critical to exceeding fundraising and audience development goals. I was key in developing best practices for strategic and financial planning during a period of significant organizational growth.

The programs I managed were for the junior apprentices, youth ensembles, and community outreach initiatives.

I developed and taught instrumental string music curriculum; this was a district-level course of study for students in grades 4-9
