I have over 15 years of experience as a program researcher and evaluator, data scientist, and training and technical assistance (TTA) provider and I am committed to pursuing data-driven decisions that impact policy and practice. In addition to being a skilled writer and analyst, I am adept at designing data visualizations, conducting performance monitoring, as well as program management, and database management. I am organized, detail-oriented, and technology-savvy. My work ranges from child welfare and maltreatment, chronic disease and obesity prevention to substance abuse and HIV/AIDS prevention. Recent work includes supporting the Knowledge Management team within the Capacity Building Center for States contract with the Children’s Bureau. I serve as a research and data scientist and conduct research and evaluation, as well as data analysis to translate complex information into accessible and plain language formats. I have created a variety of resources including data visualizations, one-pagers/infographics, reports, guides, briefs, and oral presentations to communicate findings to multiple audiences. I have also developed processes and tools to enhance program capacity for data analysis. Previous contracts include CDC projects focusing on performance monitoring and serving as a technical assistance liaison for hurricane impacted states with vector-borne disease programs; conducting webinars and training for an opioid prevention contract; providing TTA for an ovarian cancer demonstration project; providing training, peer calls and webinars to communicator and evaluator learning networks; providing research, evaluation and TTA to support diabetes prevention and professional development efforts; and providing TTA for healthy school clients and grantees.

Greater Atlanta Area

I provided training and technical assistance, research and evaluation, and database management services for obesity prevention, tobacco cessation, built environment, and chronic disease prevention topics for CDC's Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity (DNPAO), National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), Division of Community Health (DCH). I also conducted research and developed manuscripts for United Nations Directorate-General Sante and American Cancer Society. Lastly, I monitored subcontracting requirements, and developed and disseminated newsletters and resources.

Greater Atlanta Area

I provided training and technical assistance, research and evaluation, and database management services. TTA included webinar and resource development, working with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create products useful to grantees in community health topics, and monitoring the 508 compliance and eClearance process within CDC. Research and evaluation included conducting evaluability assessments, needs assessments, analysis, and authoring thematic reviews of the findings.

Tucson, Arizona Area

I researched and evaluated substance abuse, mental health, public health and secondary education programs in Tucson, AZ, and American Samoa to develop and recommend actionable program delivery improvements, especially among vulnerable populations. I also created surveys and analyzed survey data (SPSS); conducted thematic comparisons of qualitative data; and drafted and provided feedback on reports.

Advised pharmacy graduate students conducting research projects. Researched and recommended incentives for encouraging students to undertake rural and tribal pharmacy rotations. Researched the impact of diabetes on Native American populations, and drafted/analyzed surveys (SPSS) to determine effectiveness of rural/tribal pharmacy rotations.

Designed a multisite needs assessment to develop and recommend technology/instructional design platforms that could cost effectively promote nutrition among students in grades K through 12. Coproduced a resource-cost analysis to determine feasibility and identify innovative measures to implement a technology-focused nutrition education platform, and analyzed Iron Chef–style competitions (Stata) for additional program improvements.

Codesigned a needs assessment, program, and training/evaluation plan for outreach to homeless veterans in obtaining housing vouchers and health care services.

Managed fellowship databases and monitored the association’s fellowship nomination process. Researched post-9/11 bioterrorism funding opportunities, designed and created quarterly newsletters, and disseminated e-newsletters with research and funding opportunities.

Researched, supported, and implemented healthcare social marketing materials and trainings on HIV/AIDS prevention, sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention, and family planning for implementation in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, and the US. Translated Spanish and English documents, and managed Spanish and French communications with country representatives. She researched options and ways to encourage hard-to-reach populations to attend focus group discussions and key informant interviews. Served as a liaison for Georgetown University’s Institute for Reproductive Health’s initiative, CycleBeads®, conducting informational brown bags/trainings on the innovative, non-hormonal contraceptive method. Drafted proposals for U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Department for International Development (DFID), as well as other contracts and matching grants; and monitored contract compliance.
