Knowledge Management Specialist
As a Knowledge Management Specialist and the head of the Virtual Information Center, I've had the privilege of driving diverse and impactful initiatives as part of the Loss Control Engineering (LCE) division. I've been instrumental in designing and launching the SharePoint and SharePoint Online sites, providing a robust knowledge-sharing platform. My commitment to organized knowledge management is evident in my maintenance of extensive image, presentation, and physical and digital libraries, always following records and information management (RIM) best practices. My design skills have come into play as I use Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to craft visually appealing information sheets, including the Trend Spotlight, infographics, and the Engineering Exchange internal newsletter launch. Utilizing data-driven insights, I've evaluated content consumption patterns across platforms, enabling us to identify interest trends and create packages of related documents. My commitment to content consistency is reflected in using templates, standardized naming conventions, guidance documents, style guides, and streamlined document management practices. In essence, I'm dedicated to fostering knowledge sharing, optimizing digital asset management, and continuously improving our content distribution strategies to drive the success of the LCE division.
Information Management And Social Responsibility Strategist
In the realm of information management systems, efficiency is paramount. Over my career, I've had the privilege of working closely with Nonprofit Organizations (NPOs), startups, and individuals, where I tailored solutions to meet organizational, research, and archival requirements. My task was to understand each client's unique expectations and budget constraints. I designed information management systems aligned with their goals and employed various technologies such as Salesforce, SQL, and Awesome Table. I helped clients make informed decisions, promoting ethical investing practices in the corporate world and contributing to the greater good. I assisted retiring professionals in reorganizing their records to meet legal requirements.
Social Responsibility Manager
During my tenure of 2.5 years at Upworthy, I achieved significant career growth through three promotions. My primary responsibility was overseeing the completion of over 700 Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) evaluations to ensure alignment between potential clients (e.g., companies, brands, NPOs) and Upworthy's mission statement. These evaluations varied in length from three pages to over fifty. My main focus was on optimizing the efficiency of the ESG evaluation process. Initially, the turnaround time for these assessments exceeded a week, which needed improvement. I reduced this turnaround time to complete most evaluations within twenty-four hours. I tackled this by implementing strategies such as developing custom search engines, indexing third-party sources, and streamlining our internal vetting database. To ensure that the ESG evaluations served multiple purposes, my team and I developed a comprehensive 120-point ESG "UPometer" Scorecard. We also created visually engaging infographics that the Revenue Department utilized. These tools aided decision-making and helped communicate a client's ESG strengths and weaknesses to the Upworthy audience. Additionally, these ESG evaluations became valuable assets during Content Collaborations' request for proposal (RFP) editorial concept brainstorms.Through my efforts, I successfully reduced the ESG vetting turnaround time from over a week to a remarkable forty-eight hours, with the majority completed within twenty-four hours. The custom tools and databases we developed expedited the evaluation process and enhanced the value of these assessments. They became instrumental in decision-making, client engagement, and content creation, aligning clients with Upworthy's mission and promoting socially responsible content.
Social Knowledge Manager
I collaborated strategically with the CEO and Co-Founder of Upworthy, focusing on continuously improving Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) evaluation parameters. This collaboration was instrumental in identifying story-telling concepts for productization and improving our request for proposal (RFP) offerings.Part of my role involved working closely with the Content Collaborations department. We aimed to enrich the editorial directions by providing comprehensive ESG vet overviews. During brainstorming sessions, I offered on-the-fly research support, enhancing the creative process and aligning client needs with Upworthy's mission.I initiated the Content Collaborations Google Site launch as part of this collaboration. This platform became the repository for over 200 RFP client pitches and 700+ ESG evaluations. In addition to this, I shouldered administrative upkeep duties, ensuring that the platform remained organized and easy to navigate.Collaborating with Upworthy's leadership led to refining our ESG evaluation parameters and identifying innovative productization concepts. Our integration with the Content Collaborations department facilitated smoother RFP processes, offering clients comprehensive insights and enhancing our ability to fulfill their needs effectively. The Content Collaborations Google Site became a valuable repository for critical information, streamlining communication and enabling efficient access to vital resources.
Client Research Manager
I aimed to ensure that our Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) client vet rating evaluations were accurate and accessible to various departments within the organization. To achieve this, I created two critical databases: the Vet Result Database and the Industry ESG Keyword Database. These databases were designed to standardize client vet ratings and be versatile tools used by several departments, including Product, Intel, Engineering, and Revenue. They were leveraged for long-term corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance evaluations, competitor comparisons, and the identification of industry trends.Implementing the Vet Result and Industry ESG Keyword databases improved the consistency and transparency of our ESG client vet ratings. These databases also served as valuable resources for multiple departments, enabling them to make informed decisions about client CSR performance, competitive positioning, and industry trends.
Business Intelligence Research Fellow
As a part of my role at Upworthy, I was responsible for conducting Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) vetting for potential content partners. This crucial task ensured that each advertising partner aligned with Upworthy's mission statement.Conducting ESG vets was a meticulous process involving extensive online research, including examining corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports, third-party rankings, industry guides, and traditional news sources. The challenge was to make this process more efficient while maintaining thoroughness.I took several initiatives to streamline and expedite the vetting process. I created an ESG vet archive organized by company hierarchy. This archive allowed quicker access to previous research, facilitating informed decision-making when evaluating affiliated companies or partners. I also established two templates explicitly tailored for nonprofit organizations and media partners.Through these actions, I significantly increased the efficiency and effectiveness of the ESG vetting process at Upworthy. Creating the ESG vet archive ensured that past research was readily available, reducing duplication of effort and allowing for better-informed decisions.
Independent Editing And Tutoring Professional
I edited and proofread papers for working professionals, and instructed students on research skills and written composition.
