As the president of BMP, I lead our team of 4 officers to create engaging, helpful programming for bioengineering students of all grades as they navigate the world of bioengineering at Berkeley and beyond. With the help of their student mentors, our cohort of roughly 60 mentees learns about opportunities on the Berkeley campus, in the research field, potential internships, and future career pathways. Our hope is to make lasting connections between our mentors and mentees, and make resources on campus more accessible to students of all grades.

As an undergraduate researcher in the Conboy Lab on campus, I work under Drs. Mike and Irina Conboy on projects investigating the fidelity of bisulfite sequencing as it applies to DNA samples from aged donors and the manner in which this information may further educate biological age clocks.

I am currently employed as a lifeguard for the pools on the University of California, Berkeley campus.

As an intern for the Bioengineering Mentor Program, I work with a team of fellow students to plan meaningful events for our bioengineering student community. These include career panels, resume workshops, academic advising, socials, and more to make opportunities in bioengineering more accessible to students.

As and interpreter for VHIO, I assist in clinics and medical pop ups around the Bay Area with patients in the LEP (Limited English Proficiency) community. I've learned and applied medical terminology in my target language, Spanish, to live interpreting and remote translating scenarios, and I look forward to the applications this experience will have in my future career.

In my third summer at the Lair of the Bear, the California Alumni Association’s family camp, I worked on our staff leadership team as the Assistant Program Director (APD). Alongside 3 of my peers, I managed our staff of 60 college students in running general camp functions for up to 350 campers, including age group programming, general camp maintenance, and a variety of other tasks as needed by the management team. Additionally, we coordinated between upper management and staff to ensure the safety, cohesion, and general wellbeing of campers and staff alike.

As President of the Gamma Chapter of Delta Gamma at UC Berkeley, I facilitate all chapter activities and meetings, maintain relationships with advisers and our national foundation, and provide resources to our members to navigate college. I also oversee 8 executive officers and 26 directors in carrying out various chapter duties and guide our 160+ members in upholding the ideals of Delta Gamma.

Returning for my second summer at the Lair of the Golden Bear, I was promoted to hostess and tasked with orchestrating the service of 3 meals a day, 6 days a week to over 350 campers for 8, week-long sessions of family camp throughout the summer. As hostess, I revitalized the mechanics of our food service system and taught our staff of 150 the new methods I'd drafted. I learned important skills to effectively coordinate multiple teams at once to accomplish a common goal, and how to generate and adjust a game plan for trying something new with a large group.

As a member of the Lair of the Bear staff, my job was specifically focused in the dining hall; but as a greater member of our team, I was also dedicated to helping around camp however I could. I orchestrated the service of 3 meals a day, 6 days a week to over 350 campers for 8, week-long sessions of family camp throughout the summer. I learned how to work and communicate effectively with my team to ensure that these meals ran smoothly, and learned important skills to effectively coordinate multiple teams at once to accomplish a common goal.

As a lifeguard, I maintained my rescue skills and learned how to effectively communicate with patrons over my 4 summers through high school. Working in a team, feeling empowered in my skills to keep people safe, and becoming a role model for the children I taught to swim were my favorite parts of the job.
