I am a freelance consultant who works with civil society organisations, funders and the public sector, primarily on research, learning and strategy projects. I am also a qualified coach and action learning set facilitator, and bring my facilitation skills into all the work I do, whether that is running learning programmes, supporting senior teams in their leadership of organisations, or bringing together partners to identify common goals and strategic priorities. I lead a range of research, policy and innovation projects to develop thinking and practice on social and economic justice. Major achievements included: Establishing the School for Local Government Innovators and piloting this with Croydon Councillors: the School was a new initiative designed to work with councillors to enable greater innovation and support for risk taking in local government.Developed NEF's work on commissioning and co-production, through innovative practice with partner councils, creating new training and learning programmes to share the work with over 600 commissioners, and writing several leading publications. Designing and leading NEF's research into the impact of austerity on local communities, including developing NEF's expertise on participatory research, such as peer research.Regular skills and expertise I used were: Designing and delivering research programmes Developing policy and practice recommendations and supporting the take up of these in policy and practice Fundraising from grant foundations and through consultancy workDeveloping and maintaining strategic partnerships across the public and social sectors

Leading a range of policy, research and innovation projects across public services. Co-ordinating the team's HR, finance and fundraising functions. Line management of junior researchers (2) and interns. Significant achievements in this role included a flagship programme of work on the impact of austerity across England; in depth work with local authorities in how to apply coproduction to public services and the increased use of creative communications to disseminate our research.

Seconded through the Clore Social Leadership Programme to the Social Action Team in the Office for Civil Society for 3 months. I supported the team to develop their approach to open policy making and co-production, developing resources for the team and supporting the design and facilitation of their programmes.

I worked with a range of public sector clients as an analyst, and later as a consultant. These roles included programme management, IT systems testing and change management.
