After graduating from the University of Missouri Columbia with my Interior Design degree, I accepted a position with Lawrence Group in St. Louis. The healthcare team was overwhelmed at that point in time, and I was assigned to their projects. I quickly learned that healthcare interior design challenged me in a way that no other design did, and I found great satisfaction in having the ability to improve someone's experience when they were at their most vulnerable. Functionality and clean-ability are the most difficult aspects of healthcare design, and finding materials that were beautiful while still meeting all of the clients' needs was a challenging process that I enjoyed. After travelling to New Orleans several times, I fell in love with the city and decided to relocate in 2008. Since my move to New Orleans, Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects offered me a whole new set of challenges. I worked on a variety of project types from education, libraries, corporate, government, multi-family residential, healthcare and more. This has expanded my skill set and greatly diversified my experience. While working at Sizeler, I launched a coloring book for adults featuring New Orleans Architecture. This is where I gained experience in sales, graphic design, website design, promotion, and publication. In 2016 I started work as a multi-line sales rep for OED Reps. As a completely different experience, I found it greatly rewarding to working more closely with clients to find the right solution. Just recently I've started working with Workplace Solutions and love working more hands-on with clients to provide a complete turn-key furniture solution for their space. I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to be creative.
