Informing about recent research on water issues and bringing together researchers to foster interdisciplinary water research.

*Tackling plastic pollution at source!* Refill encourages local shops and businesses to refill people's water bottles for free to tackle plastic pollution and change individual behaviours regarding the use of single-use plastic.

Working with the water efficiency team, I designed a strategy informed by behaviour change and values theories to help DCWW tailor its communications and efficiently encourage water conservation within households.

My research focused on the social aspects of domestic water consumption in Europe and in the UK. It was part of the European FP7 project WISDOM (http://www.wisdom-project.eu/) that looked at the potential impact of implementing smart water meters in Wales. With problems such as growing water demand, climate change and urbanisation, the aim was to:- Find ways to better inform water users about their consumption and to increase their awareness of their domestic water usage, using Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) such as in-home displays and mobile applications.- Reduce indoor water consumption through behaviour and value change, again using ICTs.- Improve the communication between water companies and customers in the UK.
