I started as an interviewer after my own high school exchange year. I interviewed students who wanted to go on an exchange and families who wanted to host an international exchange student. All these interviews were conducted in English and I had the responsibility to decide if the student was eligible for the exchange program or if the family was eligible to host an international student. In addition of the interviews I held a few information events about the exchange program to students and families interested in the program. I also visited a few middle and high schools to tell about my experiences and the exchange program.Also, I worked as a trainer to future exchange students at an orientation camp. My job was to tell them about my experiences and educate them about the challenges of the whole exchange experience, such as culture differences and culture shock, adapting to a new place, and coping with homesickness, to name a few.
