As an SSIPL Librarian, I provide creative programming options for children, seniors and the general Public. In this role, I liaise with government, non-profit and local funding organizations to make wonderful projects and ideas come to life. I love new technologies, art, science, theatre and connecting people through resources, ideas, and shared space. I put this passion into every camp I plan, project I pilot, or grant I apply for, thriving in the delight this brings to Library patrons, and the impact it has in our community. I am thrilled to be a contributing part of a Library that offers so many free, equitable and accessible opportunities to our Gulf Island community, and look forward to new and exciting projects on the horizon.

In a small place, you wear a lot of hats! In this role I provided Social Media presence for our library and its extremely full programming schedule. I also took on reference responsibilities, tech help, and occasionally circulation too. I provided reader advisory services to all levels and age ranges and provided help with devices and library related apps and technology. I also provided A/V and security training to program room users while providing staff/volunteer training and updates pertinent to system upgrades or policy changes.

As a librarian with the Pedagogical Services Department at the EMSB, I supported and fostered new and existing initiatives in libraries at the English Montreal School Board. 1 of 3 Pedagogical Services librarian team members, I was uniquely responsible for facilitating planned programming and providing needed library support for a district of schools in the Montreal region. In this role I regularly liaised with principals, teachers and teaching consultants, document technicians, communications professionals, web and graphic designers and media professionals.

In this position I identified new prospective donors for major projects in support of Brock University’s priorities as outlined and forwarded in the Brock University capital campaign. I produced detailed research profiles on individual and institutional donors and prepared background briefings for development events. I tracked management activities and assisted in the development and management of prospect clearance protocols. I created work process documentation and maintained database information quality in the Raiser's Edge. I additionally designed the automated briefing model to be used in Brock University's newly established auto-reporting capability.

In this position I synthesized diffuse research data into knowledge to be for utilized for the enrichment of McGill University's Scholastic and Institutional development. I worked both on-demand and on long-term projects. My research methods and media sources were diverse and intensive. Subject matter included varied institutions, organizations, individuals and foundations. My background in Information Science and Philosophy (both Master's level degrees) made me adept in the fields of competitive intelligence and inter-departmental/faculty liaising, as I was able to apply strong critical research and superior communication skills to this position.

As a part of Canada's oldest lending library I gladly I offered my my librarian services and gained valuable experience in the process. In this position I offered Reference services and Reader Advisory service. I also helped in fund-raising ventures and assisted library programming inititiaves. I addressed patron questions by telephone and in person, and I also addressed computer and technical issues and facilitated book loans and returns as necessary.

This Information Professional position operates in support of McGill's University Advancement Department. As a student employee I was employed over the summer and during the school year. The position entailed a good deal of research and employed many different resources and multiple media types. I created prospect profiles for development officer use, updated system information, retrieved alumni coordinates and synthesized raw data into valuable, usable information. I specialized in biography production.
