Hello there & welcome to my profile ๐My name is Julia โ most people in my professional network rather know me as Julez โ and I am a product person. I started working in product management 4,5 years ago, but itโs been quite the journey since โ can it feel longer and shorter at the same time? It sure does for me. Until recently I was convinced that my core strength was the mixed skill set that I bring to the product table: + studying communications & management ๐ฉโ๐+ working in performance marketing & data analytics ๐+ experience in working in all kinds of environments, from startup, to agency, to corporate And donโt get me wrong: this has been incredibly helpful throughout my career; but there is something else which makes me & also differentiates me as a strong product person: ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ โ๐ฑ๐ผ๐๐โ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ถ๐น๐ผ๐ & ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ (dots = ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ, ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐, ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐บ๐, ๐๐ผ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐, โฆ) Letโs think of playing puzzle. ๐งฉ Like probably many people, I would start a puzzle by sorting the pieces, looking for the four edges, then the frame, to then start filling the inner parts. And once completed, there is a small feeling of satisfaction โ nicely done. Mission completed. But there also remains another, rather nagging feeling: this is only a small piece, a fraction of an image. There is so much more left and right, top and bottom of it. And not only do I not see it โ by building the frame I blocked the possibility of connecting it to other images entirely, in order to create something even more beautiful, more powerful, โฆ something new. While the puzzle playing ends here, in work life I only get started: breaking up the silo. In January 2023, I opened yet another new learning chapter of being a product leader, and am happy & curious to connect with others on the same journey with me, to exchange on shared challenges.
