Maximized portfolio performance through effective property assessment, strategic planning, development and renovation management, leasing/merchandising, vendor selection and management, marketing, negotiations, and financial management.Key Accomplishments:* Remerchandised the retail component of 900 North Michigan: Replaced a 40,000 square foot Henri Bendel store with Williams Sonoma, Max Mara, Stuart Wietzman and Mark Shale. Converted a two screen movie theatre to a 30,000 square foot Equinox Fitness Club. Reconfigured lower level common area and storage to a 12,000 square foot Mario Tricoci Salon and Spa. Negotiated all leases and oversaw the major construction required.* Repositioned West Oaks Mall in anticipation of the opening of a new shopping center within six miles. Proposed and implemented a major renovation. Worked with a major anchor to upgrade and expand their store.* Proposed a redevelopment and remerchandising plan for Rush Walton Retail. Solicited several prospective retailers and restaurants and generated significant interest.* Initiated and directed a $15 million dollar renovation of the lobby and plaza of First City Tower. The project subsequently won a Toby award. Coordinated with operational/engineering personnel to develop a ten year capital improvement program to update the twenty five year old property.* Added a health club and restaurant to 200 South Wacker which improved its ability to achieve full occupancy. Sold JMB’s 50% interest to joint venture partner at an above market price.* Marketed and sold several land parcels throughout the country. Transactions included the sale of a parking lot to the city of Hartford for twice its valuation despite several environmental encumbrances. Negotiated the sale so any future obligations or mitigation requirements were waived.

Integrated the acquisition of Cadillac Fairview, including restructuring corporate headquarters and transferring all operations to a new location. Directed all leasing, property management, marketing, expansion, renovation, and tenant coordination for the portfolio.Property and Financial Management:* Oversaw the financial, audit and tax reporting for over 200 legal entities within the corporate structure of the portfolio. Prepared and reviewed budgets, annual cash flow projections and property valuations.* Negotiated transactions with partners and lenders, prepared and made formal presentations to investors.* Evaluated all partnership and corporate documents and prepared cash flows and tax models to assist legal counsel and tax partners to convert portfolio into a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).Key Accomplishments* Increased the value of the Cadillac Fairview US portfolio by 20% with a targeted releasing, marketing and renovation plan.* Coordinated the development of a 1,000 acre mixed-use planned community of retail, residential and commercial from raw land to the installation of the infrastructure, including roads, wetland mitigation, removal of hazardous materials and addition of power and water sources.* Renovated four shopping centers and expanded two shopping centers, each with the addition of 100,000 square feet and a new anchor.
