The Language Flagship is a national initiative to change the way Americans learn foreign languages. Offering cutting-edge programs for U.S. undergraduates in critical languages, including Arabic, The Language Flagship is dedicated to creating the next generation of global professionals. The UT Austin Arabic Flagship Program (AFP) is funded by The Language Flagship, a public/private partnership sponsored by the National Security Education Program.I work with the AFP directors and the Chair of the Department of Middle Eastern Studies to define strategies for achieving program goals by overseeing program activity for both the AFP and the Arabic Summer Institute (ASI), including but not limited to: conducting admissions; hiring and assigning hourly employees; training and assigning language partners and managing the language partner program; administering the Arabic Summer Institute; collecting, maintaining and analyzing program data; evaluating program effectiveness; managing program and student support budgets; drafting annual and interim reports; assisting program directors with program development and grant-writing; developing recruitment, outreach, and advising strategy; reviewing applications for and distributing student support; determining cultural event program; facilitating student applications for overseas programs; developing and administering testing strategy; and reporting to and collaborating with affiliated units on campusIn addition, I am responsible for administrative tasks for both the AFP and ASI (student scholarships, purchasing vouchers, reimbursement documents, hiring paperwork, hourly payroll timesheets); drafting and disseminating communications with AFP students (monthly e-bulletin, promotional emails, targeted messages, funding opportunity promotions); managing all electronic and physical program files and records; conducting extensive outreach efforts with other academic units, ROTC units on campus, and K-12 schools throughout Texas.

Conducted competitor analysis and market research as well as assimilated and analyzed feedback, quantitative data, research reports, and market trends to develop and maintain successful programs.Worked extensively with the Director and Assistant Director on the significant expansion of the office’s global programming to increase the breadth and depth of our programs. Leveraged multiple stakeholders to identify and develop new and innovative programs and partnerships, drafted and reviewed proposals and agreements, and collaborated on marketing strategies for launch. The number of program offerings doubled in a two-year period and focused on building programming that matched the needs of the institution.Managed program implementation through collaboration with faculty, administrators, and overseas partners. Interned in the Study Abroad Office at the University of Texas with various curriculum integration projects and planning scholar recipients. Created Study Abroad Curriculum Integration brochure which leveraged stakeholders in the School of Social Work to pre-approve over 300 courses at 15 international institutions.
