Let me know if this sounds familiar: the greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. That’s where I come in. I found that nothing satisfies me more than inspiring others to take action. I grew up dreaming about exploring our oceans but hearing how quickly its life was withering away. I knew I wanted to dedicate my time to preserving what we have left and restoring what we have destroyed. For the past 4 years, I have been restoring the third-largest coral barrier reef system located in the Florida Keys. I currently manage an ex-situ coral nursery with over 16,000 fragments. I ensure that deliverables are met beyond my company's standards. I aim to inspire the thousands of young citizen scientists who visit the Brinton Center facility a year through experiential education, coral microfragmentation, snorkeling excursions, underwater surveys, and shark research. Additionally, I lead a team of six staff through specialized training in coral husbandry, shark tagging, scientific diving, and outdoor education. In my free time, you can still find me falling in love with nature as I chase the beauty of rock climbing, sailing, skydiving, and snowboarding.
