I conducted field research on Spotted Owls in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This included working at night, recording field data accurately, implementation and observance of specific protocols, data entry, frequent long, off-trail hiking, identification of raptor species by sight and sound, identification of individuals by band in the field, and safe.

New London/Norwich, Connecticut Area

I was employed by the Academic Resource Center at Connecticut College for class and individual tutoring in ecology for two consecutive years. I assisted students in both course and lab work.

Fort Myers, Florida Area

This position included work in both the hospital and rehabilitation center working with all kinds of native Florida wildlife including pelicans, cormorants, and other pelagic birds, opossums, raccoons, otters, various birds of prey, song birds, and reptiles. I was responsible for all aspects of animal care including rescue and release, handling.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Starting as a volunteer, I was promoted to intern and was responsible for the "bird room", including hatchling care and injured adults. I also participated in training of volunteers and employees of the National Zoo inn hatchling care. In my time at City Wildlife I aided in the successful rehabilitation and release of scores of native birds.

Kenya

I participated in an internship at the Gallmann Memorial Foundation in Laikipia Kenya. I developed an ecology program for local schools, helped establish an organic community garden, conducted botanical and insect collection curation, and venomous snake relocation.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

During this internship I had frequent interaction with pet owners and clients and assisted in animal restraint and sample collection during appointments.
