At IFLA I worked in several areas relating to policy and advocacy:The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development- Writing policy briefs to support advocacy around SDG target 11.4 and 16.10.- Ensuring through active advocacy that access to information (SDG target 16.10) and safeguarding of cultural heritage (SDG target 11.4) were included in the final 2030 Agenda.- Actively work with development issues to support people using libraries for development opportunities.Management of the IFLA Cultural Heritage Strategy and extensive network- Manage a network of 16 Preservation and Conservation Centres located in libraries worldwide.- Manage the international IFLA cultural heritage network (including UN agencies such as UNESCO).- Research on cultural heritage aspect to ensure that IFLA’s culture work is aligned with the 2030 Agenda, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, and the HABITAT III New Urban Agenda.- Set up and implementation of the IFLA Risk Register for Documentary Heritage which tracks documentary heritage at risk.Strategic Partnerships- IFLA representative at UNESCO, engagement with the Cultural and the Communication and Information Sector of the organization. - Member of the Blue Shield board.- Liaising with IFLA’s strategic partners (International Council of Museums (ICOM), International Council on Archives (ICA), International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Wikimedia Foundation and the Conference of Directors of National Libraries (CDNL).Digital preservation – preventing digital amnesia- Co-initiator, on behalf of IFLA, of the UNESCO PERSIST Project ensuring library representation and engagement.- Execution of the UNESCO PERSIST Guidelines for the selection of digital heritage.

Partner development and coordination of the 48 Council of Europe National Libraries for The European Library to enhance content quality and general communication for Europeana's library aggregator.Active engagement in ensuring usability of digital cultural heritage content. Ensuring academic library participation in The European Library through network building.

Coordinating European Union funded projects (including budget monitoring and project reporting) for Europeana (an open digital cultural heritage platform) to increase content in the platform and build a wider cross- European cultural heritage network.Strong involvement in setting up and managing the Europeana Network Association.
