I created Walking The Spirit Tours to tell the little-known stories of Black expatriates who created bold new selves in Paris. Our curbside lectures and bus tours also travel the roads, following footsteps to Richard Wright's Normandy, Josephine Baker's Dordogne, and James Baldwin's Nice. Our Black heritage storytelling and footsteps have been expanded now to include London UK: Toronto, Montreal and Nova Scotia, Canada, and Washington DC. Along the way, I've become a Certified France Specialist and an independent travel advisor. This pairing, as well as past residence in the southern French town of Aix-en-Provence and over a decade in Paris, makes my customized itineraries throughout France so much more enlightening and full of charming surprises. I'm thrilled to enable the exploration of traditional France as well as its Black heritage sites in cities like Bordeaux and Nantes, and around the world. Public speaking has become an exciting and sought-after extension of communicating the importance of history. While representing the documentary 'Paris Noir - African Americans in the City of Light' for Blue Lion Films, I have been invited to lecture at many universities and cultural venues and events such as the March on Washington Film Festival, the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture. I am a freelance writer and recently published a comprehensive 'Guide To Travel During Covid-19'. With formal training in broadcasting, I received the CBC Barbara Frum Award For Interviewing from the Radio Television News Directors Association of Canada (RTNDA). Broadcasting was a natural extension of many years in film-making, production, and research.
