- Leads USAID policy development and thought leadership working across the Agency and field Missions on the humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) nexus, forced displacement, and other cross-cutting emerging global issues. - Manages the USAID HDP Task Team, which aims to transform the Agency’s policy, planning, and programmatic practices to more effectively respond to the complex realities of today’s global landscape, reducing humanitarian need, prioritizing prevention, and cementing development gains. Leads all coordination across multiple bureaus, managing the 75+ member Task Team, drafting all agendas, briefers, talking points, and white papers, advancing the efforts across USAID as well as with other donors, partners, and the U.S. interagency. - Identifies strategic opportunities for USAID front office engagement to advance concrete policy shifts, including managing relationships with the U.S. interagency, UN and other International Organizations, the private sector, NGOs, and civil society actors; includes conducting briefings, developing talking points and briefing materials for the Agency’s Administrator, Deputy Administrator, and other principals. - Serves as a focal point for humanitarian, conflict, and peacebuilding issues, advising leadership and ensuring policy coherence with broader USAID and U.S. government directives. - Recruited to join the newly formed Independent Office of Policy under the USAID Administrator from the Bureau for Policy, Planning, and Learning in 2023 as part of the founding team, establishing key priorities and actions to advance the Administrator’s policy agenda and progress beyond programs.(Institutional support contractor via Zemitek, LLC)

- Led the delegation’s analysis and strategy setting related to geostrategic competition (U.S.-China/-Russia dynamics) and the intersections with humanitarian action and international humanitarian law. Authored a biweekly newsletter that became essential reading for leadership and senior staff across the organization. - Provided policy analysis and guidance to the legal team and coordinated engagement with U.S. government officials on sanctions and counterterrorism measures. Drafted key paper with colleagues on sanctions impact in Syria that fed into a sanctions review by the U.S. Treasury and led to subsequent humanitarian carve outs. - Translated the impact of U.S. foreign policy developments for ICRC global teams through analysis and briefings and engaged key stakeholders from the U.S. government and other Washington interlocutors on ICRC’s policy positions and humanitarian response in key contexts such as Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Ethiopia. - Contributed to briefing packages and speaking points for organization principals, including the President of ICRC.

• Identified, convened, and guided diverse groups of key stakeholders including senior working level participants from the U.S. Government, UN, and international NGOs to identify target outcomes and necessary focus areas to elevate and accelerate policy outcomes and solution design, such as USIP’s Al Hol Working Group.• Informed and elevated policy conversations by managing and organizing large scale convenings and events on topics such as stabilization, post-conflict reconciliation, and complex refugee crises featuring prominent U.S. Government and foreign officials, international organizations, and other VVIPs.• Forged strategic partnerships with key bureaus and offices within the U.S. Government, navigating complex bureaucracy and sensitivities. Cultivated and stewarded funded partnerships that resulted in over $30M for USIP programming in places such as Libya, Iraq, and Sub-Saharan Africa.• Analyzed legislation, U.S. foreign assistance funding and priorities, and Federal Budget development to inform strategic direction of leadership on funded partnerships and new policy initiatives and opportunities. • Co-founded and determined strategic direction of the organization, which worked to bridge the divide between citizens and government by running policy hackathons across the country that resulted in policy solutions that were then advocated by local and national partner organizations.• Managed a team of two in addition to volunteers, establishing partnerships with local and national organizations and conducting multi-faceted fundraising initiatives. • Generated interest from members of Congress and state level legislators as well as media coverage on NPR, Ozy, the Independent Voter Network, and UN Foundation’s Global Accelerator Blog.

• Developed and managed a U.S. Department of State funded professional fellowship program for young professionals from Egypt and Tunisia; established all partnerships with host organizations for 30 fellows.• Led a delegation of American entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders to Tunisia in support of capacity building efforts of local organizations.

• Presented the humanitarian situation and programmatic impact to delegations of major donors, partners, and foreign diplomats visiting the Gaza Strip – curating and maximizing the experience to sustain funding. • Managed a $1M, U.S. Department of State funded multi-faceted program bringing 30 middle school students from the Gaza Strip to the US to enhance their understanding of human rights and democracy, which included meetings with policymakers, Members of Congress, and UN officials. • Wrote multi-million-dollar project proposals and was an integral part of the development and drafting of the $300M 2014 Emergency Appeal, while also advising the Senior Communications Officer on outreach strategy.

• Expanded international funding efforts through the International Working Group including spearheading an internationally focused blog series to highlight a more diverse base of programmatic support. • Secured and stewarded grants of up to $2M from corporate partners, foundations, and major donors including Walmart, ConAgra Foods Foundation, Tyson Foods, Sodexo Foundation, and Deloitte.

• Served as keynote speaker at over 30 universities and other US organizations, with a specific focus on the Israel/Palestine situation from a human, non-political perspective, as well as the work of the organization.• Developed the communications/outreach strategy and managed fundraising campaigns and events along with public education efforts, 30+ chapters, and hundreds of volunteers within the organization.

• Provided all research and extensive copy editing in collaboration with New York Times writer, Laurie Flynn, for Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action published in 2011 by Penguin Books

• Managed Mr. Sinek’s entire schedule, making regular contact with the Pentagon, Members of Congress, and corporate executives on Mr. Sinek’s behalf
