Honduras

Work in the office of the Alcalde (mayor) to provide technical and programmatic support on projects; including a jurisdictional census, resiliency study and opening a new municipal office. Coordinated a census across our 35+ communities, resulting in increased national funding and data for local NGOs and municipal offices to leverage bringing new projects into our area. Collaborating with the Honduran national disaster preparedness organization we surveyed the resilience of communities and recommending appropriate training and mitigation efforts.Working with women's groups across the area we leveraged the national women's office and local private sector to create two full time positions and a municipal office focused on women's issues. Through the women's office we provided training to over 500 women our first year.
