We work with scholarship providers to build and manage programs that are impactful, sustainable, and student-informed. Our vision is to facilitate access and completion of students’ post-secondary goals, offering them meaningful and fulfilling lives.

- Provided emotional support and safety planning to survivors of sexual and domestic violence via 24-hour crisis line or walk-in counseling- Connected clients with housing, legal, food, and employment resources in the area and assisted with protective orders processes- Facilitated two support groups for survivors of sexual violence- Created a shelter resource guide for domestic violence shelters in North Carolina and neighboring states

- Researched Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participation rates in Orange County, NC- Surveyed all NC county social services offices and food banks on SNAP outreach strategies- Created an annual outreach plan and toolkit based on research findings- Wrote an employee conflict of interest policy regarding service to clients

- Researched and documented the jury pool selection process in judicial district 15B- Analyzed jury pool and census data to determine representativeness as compared to community demographics- Assisted in writing and editing report published in September 2016

- Created weekly writing and speaking lesson plans for 3rd and 4th grade students learning English as a second language- Organized and produce curricula art and newspaper classes

- Assisted clients with writing reports and filing no-contact orders in English and Spanish- Attended domestic violence court and provided assistance and support to clients

- Launched new fundraising and marketing strategies; for example, co-managed a rummage sale that raised over $1,100 and publicized a Groupon deal to benefit the Center- Solicited donations through phone calls, official letters, and grant petitions- Assisted in organizing the annual holiday auction, the Center’s largest fundraiser, for two years- Designed, produced, and edited public relations materials including fliers, press releases, advertisements, and promotional items
