- Serve as subject matter expert on Tecan’s EVO series laboratory automation platform and EVOware Standard software for the Influenza Division’s (ID) Virus Reference Team (VRT)- Program and configure Tecan’s EVO 200 to automate Influenza’s Hemagglutination Inhibition (HI) Assay using EVOware, robotic manipulation, liquid handling, and SciRobotic’s FluHema Hemagglutination Analyzer allowing VRT Microbiologists time to devote to other activities, standardizing the assay, and increasing HI throughput to consistently and quickly provide data that antigenically characterizes seasonal influenza activity- Develop a comprehensive reading profile using FluHema’s Software to accurately and consistently score samples upon completion of the assay as well as program data inputs with EVOware and outputs in a Laboratory Information System to track reagents- Lead automation effort in performance of the Tecan Verification and Validation experiment in conjunction with VRT HI subject matter expert- Perform appropriate maintenance to support the automation system as well as troubleshoot mechanical errors- Develop user management system within EVOware along with training plan and small-scale integration scripts to incorporate laboratory personnel on operation of the system serving as the key communicator/instructor- Create custom automated protocols to assist VRT members in standard laboratory protocols – bridging the gap between manual and robotic execution of laboratory conventions - American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) certified in Ferret and Goat/Sheep handling and trained on all existing VRT animal protocols for Influenza antisera production – assist regularly in animal procedures and all associated laboratory tasks
