I grew up in Marshall, North Carolina. A map-dot town where my grandparents owned and operated a small service station and repair shop. I always found myself in the garage watching, learning about, or helping with engine repairs. I have since been captivated by the power of automotive machinery and engineering. My father saw that spark of joy, fanned the flames, and taught me how to restore vintage cars and how to make daily drivers more efficient. After twelve years of training, I gained success in the dance industry from ages fifteen to twenty-two. Educating others is a skill set that I am proud to have earned while performing as a ballet dancer and instructor prior to my shift to corporate photography. At Lifetouch + Shutterfly I advanced in rank from photography to account management. Regardless of career, my love of cars never faltered. I have decided that it’s time to “return to my roots” -so to speak. With these experiences behind me, I am now pursuing a career as a Master Service Technician. My skills are more suited for a hands-on environment, and I will be more personally fulfilled. My greatest value is found in my dedication performance being of utmost quality, my passion for automotive engineering, and my commitment to success. I am studying for the Automotive Service Excellence tests in fossil fuel and hybrid vehicle repair as well as engine enhancement and performance. I am willing to put in the time to be trained in any areas that I may be lacking; I am eager to learn new things and advance my education in mechanical and automotive engineering. I will step in and get the job done without hesitation. I am a strong team player with the voice of a leader. Self-motivation, ambition, and determination are only a few of the skills I bring to the table. Being a woman in the automotive service industry is generally unheard of. This is not something that deters me but adds fuel to the fire that drives me towards being the first premier female mechanic for engine performance and petrol-to-hybrid conversion. Shakespeare said it best in A Midsummer Night’s dream – “And though she be but little, she is fierce.”
