SheBoot is a national program for women led technology businesses who preparing to raise their first external investment. SheBoot is designed and delivered by leading women from across our ecosystem: a collective of seasoned entrepreneurs, angel investors, and all-around success experts. Each year, thirty women investors select three companies from the cohort for prize money totally $300K.

After the acquisition of Chipworks by TechInsights in June 2016, Julia led the group responsible for integrating the Chipworks SaaS subscription products into TechInsights. These products were key to the future revenue growth. Julia supported the integration of Chipworks and TechInsights until she retired in 2017.

Her extensive knowledge of technology products and strategic issues involving intellectual property enabled her to provide invaluable insight and guidance to Chipworks’ customers. A widely respected expert she has been recognized as one of the world’s most foremost IP strategists by Intellectual Property Magazine (IAM).Julia brought to her role as a President a highly regarded participative management style, a focus on understanding customers and their needs and excellent product management best practices. She was instrumental in creating an environment that encourages employee input and open communication in any business climate. This open culture was a defining characteristic of Chipworks and one that fueled continuous innovation while enabling the company to consistently attract the smartest engineering talent in the world.Julia joined Chipworks when it was still in its infancy in 1994 and held increasingly senior management positions before being named President and becoming a major shareholder in 2003. Her strategic insights and recommendations have been instrumental in Chipworks’ ability to help clients earn hundreds of millions of dollars in patent licenses or save as much in royalty payments. Headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, Chipworks delivered services from global offices in the United States, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, and across Europe.
