Scientific initiation project “Construction elements in normal and fire situations: materials, methods and numerical models”: Currently, few laboratories in Brazil are accredited to carry out fire reaction tests. The general objective of this project is to enable LEE to carry them out, developing and implementing a test protocol for the evaluation of construction materials regarding fire reaction and their proper use in the building, since the laboratory has the necessary equipment - a radiant panel. This protocol for conducting the fire performance test of construction materials will follow the specifications of the NBR 15575:2013 and NBR ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Project carried out under the supervision of Professor and Doctor Poliana Dias de Moraes.

Voluntary scientific initiation project "Application of the requirements of the NBR 17025 standard to the procedures of the 15575 standard": The Structural Experimentation Laboratory (LEE), of the Civil Engineering department, seeks its certification with INMETRO in tests provided for by the ABNT NBR standard 15575 - Residential buildings, implementing a quality management system based on the NBR ISO 17025 standard - General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The scientific initiation volunteer will assist in the activities related to the application of the precepts of the NBR ISO 17025 standard in the activities developed at LEE, guided by the ABNT NBR 15575 standard. In parallel, assistance will be provided in laboratory tests and related activities to verify the validity of the protocols developed.
