Application of genomic approaches and single cell technologies to investigate molecular mechanisms driving drug resistance in multiple myeloma. I employed single cell RNA sequencing technologies to study differentiation states in myeloma at single cell resolution. The major objectives of this project were to define differentiation state changes in multiple myeloma and to elucidate possible enhancer rewiring associated with these altered differentiation states. We found that modulation of differentiation states provides novel therapeutic opportunities, independent of the vast genetic heterogeneity of the disease. Currently, I am employing single cell RNA sequencing technologies to study how myeloma cells interact with the bone marrow microenvironment.
