DIY Girls is a nonprofit in Los Angeles that is committed to expanding opportunities in STEAM for girls through hands-on programming, providing tools to build their technical skills and confidence to pursue STEM as they enter adolescence and start to explore career interests.DIY Girls was founded in 2011 to inspire and motivate girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math by Luz Rivas, current California State Assemblywoman for the 39th District. As an engineer and educator, she developed programming that she launched with a cohort of 32 girls. DIY Girls has since expanded our programming to include Creative Engineering, STEAM Girls, Invent Girls, GANAS, Summer Woodworking Camp, and virtual learning opportunities, expanding to serve nearly 1,000 girls per year across 15 school sites.

• Managed all phases of full-cycle recruiting, from initial sourcing and screening to offer negotiations, placement, onboarding, and HR assistance• Gained extensive industry knowledge of Information Technology; provided resources for Application/Software Development, Infrastructure/Operations, Creative/Interactive, and PMO positions• Balanced a high volume of tasks at once, including calling and messaging hundreds of new candidates weekly, posting on job boards, qualifying incoming roles, scheduling interviews, and checking references• Tracked timesheets, contract durations, and gross profit margin (GPM) for 30+ placements by generating reports in Erecruit Applicant Tracking System and MS Excel• Appointed by Division Manager as Service Coordinator of the San Diego office—responsibilities included organizing office-wide donations and scheduling volunteer opportunities Accomplishments:• Contributed to a 400% office spread growth from FY 2019 to 2021• Increased personal weekly spread by 75% in Q4 of FY 2020• Recruiter of the Week x5, earned through metrics

• Facilitated curation committee meetings to discuss conference initiatives, brainstorm ideas, and outline deliverables for speaker development• Recruited, screened, and selected six unique TED speakers, one performance artist, and an emcee to present on an official TEDx stage• Coordinated production and logistics of the event, which hosted over 500 audience members, through collaboration with 13 other executive officers and committee members
