About Julia Barry
Throughout my internship and subsequent part-time position at Limbitless Solutions, Inc., I have experienced first-hand the joy and comfort that prosthetics can bring individuals with limb differences. My role inspired me to pursue both a mechanical engineering and general biology major in hopes of converging future technology and anatomy. My education in these fields has led me closer to that goal. Through creating bucks for thermoforming cosmetic arm covers and designing a sleeve set, I have increased not only the production, but also the selection of prosthetic arm options, widening the scope of the present technology to reach as many people as possible. Seeing this impact motivates me to learn and explore, challenge myself, and design using artistic medians. Even online, I strive to manage and communicate with others, bringing abstract ideas into the material world.
