After graduating from Roger Williams University in 2018, I spent six years teach English Literature for grades 9-11 as well as Journalism I. Furthering my own education has been a valuable experience, and in addition to completing my Masters of Education in Literacy and Language, I frequently seek out opportunities to partake in professional development to help strengthen my content knowledge and my teaching skill set to support all types of student learners. I am passionate about fostering student creativity, encouraging a growth mindset, and showing others how to apply their critical thinking skills to real-world scenarios. My personal teaching philosophy focuses on students as individuals, where I work to foster a genuine and compassionate connection to best help understand and support their academic needs. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I also worked closely with school counselors to lead staff Resiliency Teams with a focus on Dialectical Behavioral Training. I believe in a collaborative and collegial work environment, where seeking feedback and additional perspectives are core to the process of the department team.
