In the fall of 2019, I began at UW-Madison studying material science and engineering. While I found the classes enjoyable, I could not see myself pursuing that as a long-term career. There was no doubt that I wanted to study engineering, so I went to research other engineering majors more in depth. After doing so, I quickly realized that industrial engineering was exactly what I was looking to study. I began taking more industrial engineering classes and these only confirmed the excitement I have for this field of study. After my sophomore year of college, I got an internship with Rockwell Automation. I ended up working at Rockwell for just over 2 years as a mechanical and industrial engineering intern. Beginning with the industrial engineering internship experience, I attained a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification and played a pivotal role in identifying and addressing over 1000 part demands and shortages. I also strategically rebalanced a critical production line to alleviate bottlenecks. For the mechanical engineering experience, I am currently under review for a patent. Using Creo and SAP, I modeled parts, created detailed drawings, and released parts. My responsibilities also included the production of 3D printed prototypes. I also undertook a project that showcased my proficiency in cutting-edge technology, utilizing Vuforia Studio and the HoloLens to develop an augmented reality (AR) assembly process for drives. Upon graduating from UW-Madison in 2022 with a degree in Industrial Engineering, I transitioned to the role of Continuous Improvement Facilitator at Stoughton Trailers. Over the course of a year, I spearheaded the implementation of 5S across four plants. Additionally, I lead a contract team based in India that help create highly detailed work instructions. I provide them with essential information such as plant layouts, process maps, and operation videos. This collaborative effort resulted in the creation of seven detailed baseline work instructions for four distinct products, all meticulously tracked and managed through an updated Gantt chart. This professional journey showcases my commitment to engineering excellence, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, setting the stage for future achievements in the dynamic field of industrial engineering.
