For example, did you know that a "Coordenador Acadêmico" in Brazil would be the equivalent of an Academic Dean in the U.S.? The equivalent is NOT an "Academic Coordinator"! In fact, the word "Coordinator" in the U.S. often refers to a lower level position. In other words, a candidate who translates this term incorrectly will be considered less qualified than he or she actually is!As you can see, language knowledge is not enough to get the opportunity you want!
